ROY EDWARD SMITH (BRANNON) was born to Frank and Mable Brannon on October 1, 1948 in Gary, Indiana. Roy was the youngest of eight and followed in their footsteps attending Roosevelt High School.
In his early twenties, Roy moved to California for some years until he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Here he resided until his passing.
Roy was employed at Elrod for over twenty years. While at Elrod, Roy built crash walls for racetracks across the country.
Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and cooking. He was known by everyone as the “Grill Master”. Roy also enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, when not watching sports or cooking he would spend his spare time enjoying life with his wife attending concerts and other events. His passion for grilling and contagious sense of humor will be missed by family and friends.
Roy was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life Kimberly Young June 12, 2021.
Roy Edward Smith (Brannon) departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of seventy – five years 10 months and two days. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Frank and Mable Brannon(Tauheedah Muhammad); two sisters Shirley Keys and Mae Francis Brannon; two brothers Frank Brannon Jr. and William (Bill) Brannon.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife Kimberly Young – Smith; his son Darius Foster (Brannon), three stepdaughters Shatanna Murphy, Tiffany Marble and Chancey Davis and one step-grandson Maurice Rush Jr., two brothers James (Lillian) Brannon and Nathaniel Brannon, one sister Ann Marie Brannon, a host of special nieces and nephews, family and friends.
