Roy Charles Clauson, 77, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on August 9, 2023. Roy was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 3, 1945, to Henry Neil and Esther Mary (Schatz) Clauson. Roy, an engineer by trade, worked for Capital Machine. Roy could be best described as a work alcoholic. Outside of work, he kept himself busy as a skilled woodworker, creating many pieces of furniture and gifts for his family and friends. He was an electronic junkie and very “tech savvy”, being the first in his family to have a computer. Prior to the accident that lead to his disability, he enjoyed bicycling and riding the trails. He had a crush on Wonder Woman and his musical tastes included: Anne Murray, Dean Martin and Elvis.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rosemary vonVogel and E. Judy Kendrick. He is survived by sister, Nancy Ann Davidson; nieces: Debbie Knapp, Sally Ann Davidson, Roseanna Kuciejczk, Jennifer Hoover, Heather Jones, Mary vonVogel and Sarah Randolph; nephews, Joe Kuciejczk and Brandon vonVogel; as well as many other extended family members and beloved friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2pm on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis). Entombment will be private in Washington Park East Cemetery.
