Roy Alan Bond

Roy Alan Bond passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2025, at the age of 67. 

 Born on December 18th, 1957, to Drs. Peggy and William Bond, Roy grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Purdue University in 1981. He started his career managing computer systems for Alcoa in Newburgh, Indiana. In 1992, he returned to Indianapolis where he worked for Eli Lilly and Co. until his retirement in 2017. 

 A parishioner of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, he was guided by his faith and exemplified the principles of kindness, acceptance, and forgiveness. His love for and dedication to his family knew no bounds. 

 He was a passionate car enthusiast and auto-racing fan and loved to spend time with family enjoying a race or helping to keep their cars safely on the road. A fearless DIY-er, he set out to renovate his childhood home and preserve the surrounding nature in the midst of Indianapolis. 

 As a lifelong learner and avid reader, he loved to share his knowledge, wisdom, skills and guidance with friends and family. His generosity, warm smile, quick wit, and friendly demeanor always brightened the days of those around him, and his curiosity and intrepid spirit will live on in the many that he inspired throughout his life. 

 Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Peggy Bond and Dr. William Bond, and brother James Bond. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Bond, brother Dr. Robert Bond (Maureen), sister Linda Bond (Karen), his children, Dr. David Bond (Rachel), Raymond Bond, Rhonda Bond (Alesia), Roger Bond (Hannah), his grandchildren Eliana Bond, William Bond, Magdalena Bond, Gabriela Bond, Anthony Bond, and his nephews, nieces, and grandnephew. 

 He will be greatly missed by his family, colleagues, friends, and faith family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 4-8 pm at Flanner Buchanan -Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, IN 46228, with a rosary prayer service at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 27th at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 3354 West 30th Street Indianapolis, IN 46222.
