Rowland "Dusty" Calvin Rhodes

Indianapolis, Indiana

Rowland “Dusty” Calvin Rhodes of Indianapolis died on April 7, 2020 at the age of 98.

He was born November 12, 1921 in Indianapolis to the late Rowland and Ruth Rhodes.

Dusty graduated from Arsenal Tech High School.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in WWII from 1942 -1945 as an armorer arming Corsair Airplanes in the South Pacific. He was employed by Indianapolis Office Supply as a Sales Rep and retired after 47 years with them.

Dusty was a 50-year member of the Sahara Grotto and Eastside Exchange Club.  He loved to garden and fish and was an avid bowler.  He and his wife Jeanne loved spending the winters in Florida.

He is survived by daughters Susan Lee Cyrus (Greg) and Mary Beth Weber (Phil); grandchildren Angela Cyrus Borger (Claudio), Mark Cyrus, Clare Cyrus, Luke Weber, and Aubrey Weber; great-grandchildren Skylar Cyrus, Cameron Dugger, Harper Weber, Eli Borger, and Oliviyah Cyrus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years Jeanne Snyder Rhodes and daughter Deborah Jeanne Rhodes.

The family is holding private services.
