Rosemary Scalf

Rosemary “Rosie” Scalf, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away January 13th, 2023. She was born August 15th, 1929, in Indy, to parents Ernest and Kizzie Humbles.

Rosie attended Arsenal Tech High School. As a young woman, she met the love of her life, Billy Joe. Rosie was just 15 when they married, and they shared 78 wonderful years together.

She worked for Wonderbread for many years before retiring. She was a valued member of The Order of The Eastern Star for many years as well.

Rosie was a kind, loving woman. She adored her family and enjoyed traveling all over to see them. Being a grandma gave her so much joy. Rosie liked taking trips to the casino, and in her free time, kicked back to watch her soap operas.

Rosie is survived by her husband Billy Joe; children Jeff (Cheryl) Scalf and Karen Jones; grandchildren Daniel, Greg, Stephanie, Jeffrey, and Melissa; and great-grandchildren Penelope Rose and Peyton.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her five siblings, Lucille, Eugene, Betty, Robert, and Shirley.

Rosie is laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
