Rosemary Carr, age 96 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Tuesday morning, March 26, 2024.
Rosemary was born on October 20, 1927 in Ansted, West Virginia, a daughter of Jay Garland and Maggie Belle (Ruffner) Skaggs. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She married Robert L. Carr on April 3, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death in May 27, 2007.
She is survived by her three children: Jim Carr of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jay Carr of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gary (wife Nancy) Carr of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Two grandchildren: Garrison Carr and Griffin Carr.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Rev. Charles Barcus will officiate the service.
Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery where Rosemary will be laid to rest with her husband Robert L. Carr.
Following the interment, all in attendance are invited back to a reception at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center.
Rosemary was a geologist and later Curator of Education at the Childrens Museum of Indianapolis, 1949-1959.
She was a volunteer at the Indiana State Museum for many years as well as OASIS. She was of a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She and her husband enjoyed extensive travel in the United States as well as abroad and presented travelogues to various groups.
Memorial donations in memory of Rosemary may be made to the Indiana State Museum Foundation, Disabled American Veterans or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
