Rose Hicks

Rose Hicks, age 101, passed away August 10, 2019.  She was the daughter of Rufus Neal and Virgul Cottingham, born in Charleston, Illinois December 24, 1917.  She attended New Augusta High School and later moved to LaPorte, Indiana where she graduated from Stillwell High School in 1935, lettering in basketball.

Rose was married to William Harold Daupert from 1936 to 1964.  She was then married to Claude Hicks from 1975 to 1988.  She worked for Link Belt during WWII then later Pitman Moore (Dow Chemical) until 1976.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lucille and Virginia, her brother Bill and eldest son, David.  She is survived by her son Daniel (Beth), five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Zionsville Meadows for the many years of kindness and caring toward Rose. Also, thanks to the Hunter family for their friendship to Rose.

Services will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville, 105 W. Pine Street, on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 1pm, with calling two hours prior.
