Roscoe R. Manion, age 82, of Camby passed away on April 24, 2017. He was born in Smithville, IN to Emmett and Edith Manion and grew up in Crawfordsville, IN where he went to Crawfordsville High School. He served in the US Navy in Korea. He worked most of his life as a Pipefitter and Welder. He retired from Amtrak in 1998 after 20 years of service as a Cooling Refrigeration Technician. Roscoe was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1111 in Mooresville. He was a family man who enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, casinos, riding Amtrak and John Deere tractors. He was also a Licensed Single Engine Pilot.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his, brother and sisters, Gordon Manion, Wilma Pritchett, Helen Ritorto, Violet Weeks, Emma Lee and Joyce Magness. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Beverly, his children, Randy (Marla) Manion and Melanie (Jeff) Garner, brothers, Jerry, Gary, and David Manion, sisters, Norma Miles, Wanda Blubaugh and Retha McIntosh and his grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Manion, Megan Manion and Morgan Manion.
Friends may visit from 4-8 pm, Thursday, April 27, 2017 with the service being at 2 PM Friday at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. Roscoe’s family wishes to thank the staff at the VA Hospital, their wonderful family, friends and neighbors for all the care and support.
