Rosanna S. Grayson

Rosanna S. Grayson, 86 of Carmel, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Rosanna was born at home on the family farm on September 12, 1930 in Tipton County, IN to the late Ralph and Jessie Shoe. She graduated with honors from Ball State in 1952. Rosanna was a high school consumer science and business teacher for 8 years at various schools.

Rosanna was a 10 year 4-H member and a long-time 4-H club leader. She was an active member of the Home Economist’s Guild, Ball State Alumni Association, Stansfield Circle, Methodist Hospital Task Corps and several medical society auxiliaries including, Methodist Hospital, Marion County and Indiana University . Rosanna was very involved in planning her 50th Ball State class reunion. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Rosanna valued being a wife and mother. She also valued being a bookkeeper for the family farm. She enjoyed consumer science including entertaining, cooking, baking and sewing. Rosanna won many State Fair awards, published several recipes and modeled her creations in fashion events. Leisure time passions included country drives, ocean cruises, garden walks and gourmet dining.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 28 also at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel.

Rosanna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ted L. Grayson, M.D.; daughter, Susie Grayson; son, Tom Grayson, M.D.; daughter-in-law, Kristen Grayson; grandsons, Ben and Michael Grayson; sister, Virginia Gwinn. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Grayson on November 29, 2016.
