Rosalind M. (Stewart) Stephens

Rosalind M. (Stewart) Stephens, age 92, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 19, 2017. She was born on July 3, 1925 as the daughter of Gerald and Mable (Ruby) Stewart. She was a graduate of Carthage High School and married Nelson Stephens on May 21, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas.

Rose worked as a bookkeeper for R.O. Whitesell & Associates and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Rose will be missed by her children, Denise Miggenburg and Kevin Stephens; grandchildren, Shannon (David) Burton, Mitch (Becky) Miggenburg, Allyson Stephens and Nicholas Stephens; great-grandchildren, Dane Burton, Drew Burton, Sullivan Miggenburg and Banks Miggenburg; brother, Gary (Barbara) Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mable Stewart; husband, Nelson Stephens; and sister, Jean.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 25th, 2017 3pm until 7pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 10am, also at the funeral center. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St. #100, Indianapolis, IN 46278, or envelopes will be available at the funeral center during services.
