Rosalie Lewis

Ms. Rosalie Lewis, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, April 17^th, 2022. She was born February 18^th, 1938, in Seymour, Indiana to parents Hugh and Arnel (Hardin) Scifres.

Rosalie graduated with honors from Southport High school.

As a young woman, fresh out of high school, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Lewis. They shared many wonderful years together. Robert passed away in 2016.

Rosalie worked as a secretary for Service Engineering for many years. Later she worked as the secretary for New Palestine Bible Church, where she and Robert were devoted, charter members.

Rosalie was a strong, vibrant woman, who loved to be involved in her community. She was the town historian for Cumberland for many years. She and Robert contributed so much to the area, they are commemorated at the Cumberland Honor Park. Rosalie was a very talented artist, and an excellent cook. Above all, she adored her family, and loved spending time with her loved ones.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Randy (Denise) Lewis, and Rhonda (Marc) Price; daughter in law Anita Lewis; grandchildren Mandi (Kyle) Kostroski, Tara Jones, Jessica (Dustin) Curtis, Ashley (David) Ailes, Brittney (Eric) Gaffin, and Kayla Gill; great-grandchildren Bella Ayala, Preston Jones, Maddie Curtis, Mason Kostroski, Dawson Ailes, Presley Jones, Mila Kostroski, Alena Gill, and Luke Curtis; Siblings Gordon Scifres, and Dennis Scifres.

She is now reunited with those who have passed before her; her parents, her loving husband Robert, son Russell Lewis, and brother Stephen “Wayne” Scifres.

Visitation for Rosalie Lewis will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington park east Thursday April 21st, from 4-8pm; her funeral will be Friday April 22^nd, at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
