Rosalee Wenzlaff

Rosalee Wenzlaff, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away November 1, 2019. She was born August 3, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Francis M. II and Dottie M. Johnson; she was one of 8 children.

Rosalee was a Washington High School class of 1961 graduate. She was a data processor for AUL, a career she took pride in until her official retirement in 2009. She started “Soups On” at Roberts Park United Methodist church, a ministry that fed those in need in the community. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 18 successful years.  Rosalee was an easy going woman who enjoyed reading, especially Louis L’Amour, but she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet her, she was truly one of a kind.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dottie; step-father, Lambert Gassaway; daughter, Cheryl Brown; sister, Mary Joe Hamilton; brother, Richard Johnson. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Dawn (Robert) Bereman, Gerald (Heather) Karn, Randolph (Debra) Karn, Robert Karn; siblings, Francis II (Beverly) Johnson, Tom (Linda) Johnson, Sue Stevens, Denise Adams, Timothy (Leona) Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

All are welcome to visit Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222 as well as Friday, November 8, 2019 from 1-2 PM. Funeral Services will take place Friday, November 8 at 2 PM at the funeral home. Rosalee will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services.
