Ronnie Clayton Rains

Age 78, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Community North Hospital. Ron was born August 23, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Harvey C. and Melba H. (Jeanette) Rains. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Lynda Clemons and Barbara Allen; grandchild Conor Rains; and great-grandchildren Penelope Jasko and Eleanor McBride.  

Ron attended Wright University and received his MBA from IUPUI. He worked at Rand McNally for many years as a Controller, and then was in management at Ford Visteon in Indianapolis. Ron had a passion for woodworking, National Parks and riding his bicycle.  

He is survived by his wife Patricia; children Scott Rains & his wife Maggie, Jeff Rains & his wife Karen, Missy Jacobs & her husband Tom, Alicia DeFrancesco & her husband Nick; step-children Cindy Pendlum & her husband Roger, Deborah Colip & her husband Charles, Michael Pierson & his wife Rebecca, Richard Pierson & his wife Judy, Randall Pierson & his wife Toni, and James Pierson & his partner Joy; 43 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
