Ronald "Ron" Allen Weishaar

Ronald Allen Weishaar, 78, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on March 7, 2023. He was born on May 9, 1944, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to parents, Elmer “Bud” Weishaar and Madeline (Bivens) Weishaar.

On February 20, 1965, Ron married the love of his life, Peggy (Smith) Weishaar.

Ron retired from Navistar / IH after 42 years of service, In his spare time, Ron loved to watch NASCAR races and was a fan of anyone who could beat driver, Kyle Bush. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and eating seafood, but he really loved to go camping with his wife and family and to spend as much time with them as he possibly could.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; children, Bret (Jessica) and Scott (Diane) Weishaar; grandchildren, Ashley Heller, Michael Weishaar, Nate Weishaar, Bryan Weishaar, Chelsey Hylton, and Jack Gyllenskog; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Ryleigh, and Piper; siblings, Don Weishaar, Peggy (Doug) Diehl, Larry (Cathy Jo) Weishaar, and Cathy (Chris Rodriguez); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Bud” and Madeline Weishaar.

Ron never met a stranger. He loved to talk with everyone, and made friends easily. Ron’s love of God shown throughout his life and was evident until his death.

Visitation for Ron will be from 4-7pm on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East – 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will be the next day at 11am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, with burial to follow services at Washington Park East Cemetery.

The family would love to invite everyone for a Celebration of Life food and fellowship luncheon for Ron at Brookville Road Community Church – 7480 US-52, New Palestine, IN 46163 at 1:30pm on Tuesday, March 14, following the conclusion of his funeral and graveside services.
