Ronald “Ron” Lee Morgan, 65, Indianapolis, passed away May 3, 2024.  He was born in Indianapolis, to Maurice Joseph Morgan and Roberta Leona Brinkman Morgan.   A graduate of John Marshall High School, Ron pursued a degree in music education at Ball State University and dance at Butler University. He began his professional career in the Disneyland “All American College Singers” in Anaheim, California.   Ron moved to New York City to perform and choreograph for industrial trade shows, cruise ships and Off-Broadway events, performing literally all over the world.   He landed his first show on Broadway in the original cast of STARLIGHT EXPRESS and returned to the Gershwin Theater in the original cast of MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS. Between stints, Ron began a long connection with Beef & Boards Dinner Theater in Indianapolis performing in LA CAGE AU FOLLES in 1989.  Since that time, Ron served as the resident choreographer, director and casting associate for the theater.  Ron also performed at Footlight Musicals and Civic Theater, choreographing and directing at Civic and helping to develop the YAP program.  During his career, Ron choreographed for Disney Productions, The Colts Cheerleaders, The Indiana Pacemates and half time shows for the NFL and NBA.  He performed in New Orleans and Las Vegas.  Ron also became a leader in the world of show choir, serving as guest clinician at Show Choir Camps of America and choreographing and judging all over the country, most recently at Cathedral and Lapel High Schools.  Ron was the choreographer for Carmel High School’s Accents, Ambassadors and spring musicals for more than 15 years, helping them to win numerous awards and Indiana State Championships.  Most recently, Ron poured his musical talent and deep faith into Pendleton First United Methodist Church as a member of the Adult Choir and Praise Team.   Ron’s greatest gift was helping people to believe in themselves.  Ron opened and owned Performer’s Edge dance and theatrical training school in Carmel for more than two decades.  He was the spark that started the careers of many performers and dancers who are currently in regional theaters and on Broadway.  His love, passion and inspiration will be greatly missed in the worlds of theater, show choir and beyond.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Morgan, brothers Ed Morgan, Maury Morgan and Jeff Morgan.

Survivors include his husband of 30 years, Lamonte Allen Kuskye, brother Don Morgan, and his beloved dog Minnie.

A scholarship fund is being set up to help young performers/dancers.  Information about Memorial contributions will be available soon.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Monday, July 22nd at 7:00pm at Beef & Boards Dinner Theater, 9301 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
