Ron Baker Hudelson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully left to be with the Lord on November 30,2024, at the age of 81. Born on August 2, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to say Ron was friendly is an understatement. He had an uncanny knack for making everyone feel welcome. His cheerful spirit would brighten the hearts of all he met. Whether you were a long-time friend or a complete stranger, you would instantly feel like family in his presence. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ron (AKA Senior) spent his entire life working in the automotive business, culminating in the proud achievement of founding Sincere Auto Care with his son Ron (AKA Junior) in October 2000. Ron found immense joy and purpose working beside his son and grandson, even during his retirement years. He lived to be at the shop and looked forward to seeing his customers, knowing many of them on a first-name basis. With a hot cup of coffee and his infamous greeting of “Well, good morning!” regardless of the time of day, he always set a positive tone and left everyone smiling. The atmosphere at Sincere Auto Care was always lively, thanks largely to Ron’s friend nature and the genuine interest he took in every one of his customers.
In the words of his son, “When you had an encounter with my dad, there was a kind of non-foe way about his personality that had a non-threatening, calming effect, that enabled him to ‘get along with’ any customer, no matter their state of mind. Everyone just seemed to be okay with my father’s presence in the room. His being a part of things, no matter how stressful the situation or scene, seemed to always help.”
Those who knew Ron will fondly recall his love for fishing, a pastime that provided him with moments of joy and tranquility. Whether he was casting a line in the lakes of Linton or chatting over a cup of coffee, Ron made a lasting impact on everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Hudelson, his adoptive father Francis Hudelson, his birth father Cyril Baker, and his grandson Anthony Harlin.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Marschand; children Cheri Bauder, Ronald David Hudelson (Tammy), and Lori Gutierrez; sister Linda Lambert; 17 grandchildren; as well as many great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 2-6 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229).
