Ronald Evan Mitchell,

78, New Palestine, passed away unexpectedly in Seminole, Florida on February 18, 2017. Ron was born January 4, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harold and Mary Hildreth Mitchell. He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1957 and Indiana Central College (U of I) with an accounting degree in 1961.

After retirement as Controller of Crown Paper Box, he and his wife, Loretta, enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets, and garage sales. He loved spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren; attending their sporting and school activities. Ron coached his sons’ New Pal Little League baseball teams for many years.

Ron is survived by his wife of 32 years, Loretta, sons: Scott (Treva), and Todd; daughter Kelly (fiancé Tim), Truchan; sister Doris (Robert) McCormack; grandchildren: Jordan and Jeremy Truchan, Austin and Chase Mitchell, Kinsey and Ty Mitchell; and former wife, Penny Bittle Mitchell. Visitation will be held Friday, February 24 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East with services to follow at 12pm.
