Ronald Eugene Wright

Ronald (Ronnie, Ron) Eugene Wright, 66, of Indianapolis passed away on January 23, 2022 surrounded by a loving family. He was born in Indianapolis on June 3, 1955 to the late Joe and Opal (Vinson) Wright. Ronnie is best remembered by his simple nature, loving heart and generous spirit. He was a big teddy bear, “our marshmallow man,” and he had a soft spot for animals and kids.  When he wasn’t fishing, you could find him in front of a TV watching his Hoosiers, Colts, Blackhawks, Reds, and NASCAR. His love of sports started at an early age when he would sneak away to shoot hoops on his way back from the grocery and it continued to blossom at Arsenal Technichal High School on the football field. He loved to follow his daughter, Kim, around to bowling tournaments and could be found on the sidelines watching his grandson, Charlie, play soccer. He was loved by everyone and he’s left a hole in all of our hearts that can never be filled.

Ronnie is survived by his loving fiance’, Marsha Williams; his daughter, Kimberly Woodall; sisters, Sherry Wadsworth, Pam (Tim) Kincade, Debbie (Al) Johnson, Melody (Bill) McClure, Jayna (Steve) Keller, Angel (Ric) Wilson; brother, Anthony (Lisa) Wright; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, granddaughters and a grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry and Larry Wright, wife Diana, daughter Kandace, son Michael and two nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4PM-8PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, the following day at 11AM. Ronnie will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
