Rollo O. Quarles, Jr., age 86, departed this life on June 14, 2022. He passed while at home surrounded by the love of his immediate family. Born May 18, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Rollo Sr. and Viola Northington Quarles, the young Rollo Jr. immediately found love in the Lord, confessing and giving his life to Christ. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Having graduated from Shortridge High School, Rollo Jr. went on to attend Indiana University and Butler University. Afterwards, Rollo Jr. married the love of his life, Rosemary Garrison Quarles – and the happy couple grew their family with the births of their 2 sons and 1 daughter. Rollo Jr. had a successful career and retired from General Motor’s Allison Plant (#3), while fostering his love of music in his free time. He was a passionate saxophone player, a multi-talented musician with the ability to play other horn instruments. He was a member of a several bands, entertaining audiences all around town. Rollo Jr. was a hard worker, a loving son, a devoted husband, and a doting father and grandfather. He truly loved and gave his all to his family. His parents, wife and youngest son, Rollo III, proceded him in death. Left to cherish and honor his memory are his caring daughter, Rogenia Quarles, his oldest son, Noland Quarles, a grandson (Nolen), a granddaughter (Amber) and his great grandchildren (Nia, Nadia and Winter), his brother-in-law Ronald Garrison, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
