Roger D. Schoenmeyer

Roger Dean Schoenmeyer of Carmel, IN, passed away on June 1, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 2, 1947, to parents, Howard and Elizabeth (Yeager) Schoenmeyer. He graduated from Fairmont West High School and Sinclair Community College with his Associates degree in Computer Science. He was an system analyst finishing his career at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  

Roger was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving 4 honorable years. He spent his time enjoying his family, reading science fiction books, listening to live bands, volunteering with Welcome Wagon at Grand Park driving a golf cart, playing computer games with friends and family, and was a lover of cars.

Roger married Elizabeth “Kathy” Simons on April 26, 1969. They spent 55 wonderful years together, she survives. He is survived by daughter; Lindsay (Carl) Schumaier; Son in law, Brian Rismiller; grandchildren, Libby Rismiller, Addison Rismiller, Charlotte Schumaier, Lillian Schumaier; Brother in law, Charlie Simons; Brother in law, Larry Andersen (Judy); Sister in law, Nancy Andersen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wendy Rismiller; Brother in law, Richard Andersen; Sister in law, Judith Bowling. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters) 4180 Westfield Rd. Westfield, IN 46062.
