Roger K. 'Rocky' Newman

Roger Kimmish Newman (Rocky) passed on to be with Jesus on November 16, 2021. He was born on October 10, 1950. He was one of nine children to James and Mary Joyce Newman.  He was a loving son, brother, and uncle.  Rocky’s father was in the army and they moved frequently.  During his stay in Baumholder, Germany, Rocky’s little league baseball team advanced to the All-Europe championship game.  Rocky was the pitcher, and it was one of his proudest moments.  He was also in theatrics in high school and college.  He graduated from Lawrence Central and Marian University.

We are all sure he is in heaven with his two deceased brothers, Tom and Mike fishing.  He is survived by his 96 year old Mother and his siblings and spouses:  Jim (Peggy), Pam Sokol, Suzanne (Jim) Perez, Dane (Elese), JR (Kelley), Jack (Alex) and his sister-in-law Sue Ellen Newman.  Rocky had numerous nieces and nephews that he held dear. We will all remember fondly his big heart, wide smile and hearty laugh.

Services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 East 10th Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.  Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
