Rodney Gene Grimes

Rodney Gene Grimes, 71 of Avon, passed away on January 15, 2019. He was born May 12, 1947 to the late Milton Gene and Mildred Boles Grimes. He was a Navy veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was employed as an electrician by M.V. Farrar, Farrar & Sons and Godby. He enjoyed reading and photography and was an excellent cook. He was devoted to his family, with a special spot in his heart for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his spouse, Jo Ellen Bennett Grimes, son Benjamin (Gina) Grimes, daughter Emily (John) Heavrin and grandchildren, Jackson, Vance, Carter and Cindy. He was predeceased by his sister, Cynthia Hunt, and granddaughter, Lily Anna.

Visitation is Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the service immediately following.
