Roberta Gayle Turpin

Roberta (Berta) Gayle (Wise) Turpin, age 70 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, July 6, 2019.  She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 7, 1948 to her parents, Ralph and Josephine Wise. Berta was raised in Mooresville, and she was a graduate of Ben Davis High School.

In Berta’s early days of employment, she worked in the insurance industry. She later became a bus driver for the residents of Westside Retirement Village. She proudly retired from there after many years of dedicated work. Throughout her life, Berta enjoyed many activities, including, camping, fishing, playing cards, Facebook, her kitties, most recently Shiloh, and all her good friends. She also enjoyed several trips taken during this past year.

Berta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Turpin; as well as two of her brothers, Mark Wise and Jack Wise. She is survived by her siblings, sister: Jan (Jim) Brown, sister: Rachael (Carole) Wise, brother: Ralph Jr. (Lisa) Wise, brother: Ed (Judi) Wise; step-sisters, Marcia, Becky and Diane; and her best friends, Bob Hayden and Shirley Fellenstein.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 11AM-1PM with a funeral service immediately following at 1PM. Both visitation and funeral will be held at Flanner Buchanan—Floral Park, 425 N Holt Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46222. Memorial contributions may be made in Roberta’s memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
