Robert William Reid

Robert W. Reid, 96, passed away on June 4, 2022. He was born on July 18, 1925, in Indianapolis to the late John S. Reid and Fern Lucy Gloyd.

After graduating from Arsenal Tech High School, he joined the Navy from 1943 until 1945 serving as Sonarman aboard the destroyer escort USS Richard S. Bull. He then received his associates degree from Purdue University. Robert later went on to work at Insley Manufacturing Company, and then he worked as a Supervisor with Indiana Bell until his retirement.

He is preceded in passing by beloved wife, Margaret J. Reid. Robert is survived by his four children: John S. Reid (wife: Lana/children: Maria, Lynn, Dawn), Susan Pryor (husband: Greg/children: Cindy, Chrissy, Gregory), Robert E. Reid, and William E. Reid (wife: Michele/children: Mark, Anna). Robert also has several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation/Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 13th from 4-7PM with funeral services to begin at 7PM at Flanner Buchanan- Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN. Services will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking HERE.
