Robert Lee “Bob” Watson, 77 of Carmel, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024. Bob was born December 2, 1946 at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA to the late Robert Lee Sr., and June J. Watson.

 Bob was raised in Marthasville and St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis in 1965 and from Southeast Missouri State College in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education, with a specialization in cello.

 Bob began his career as a computer programmer at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis where he worked from 1969-1973. He was a systems analyst for Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield from 1973-2003 before joining Conseco retiring in 2008.

 Bob was a cellist in several chamber ensembles, local orchestras and solo performances. He loved singing in choirs and ensembles and performed in a gospel quartet for more than 30 years, as well as performing with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir for several years. He was sports fan, participating in softball leagues and was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinal’s Baseball.

 Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, October 4 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel.

 Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Stephanie (husband, Jeff) Leppien, Daniel J. “Dan” Watson and Jason M. Watson; brother, Stephen K. Watson; cousins, Kay Buhr and Jim Buescher.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gleaners Food Bank 3737 Waldemere Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46241 (www.gleaners.org).
