Robert “Tom” Thumb, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away July 8, 2017. He was born on December 6, 1950 in Rushville, Indiana as the son of Marion and Dorothea (Davidson) Thumb.
Tom worked at Noble Industries for many years before he retired in 2000. He loved NASCAR racing. Some of his favorite drivers include Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr, A.J. Foyt, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart. Tom also loved WWE, Notre Dame football and going to ice hockey games.
Tom is survived by his sister and her family, Connie (Frank) Yaklich of Colorado; and his caregivers and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Please wear your NASCAR gear or the colors of NASCAR to celebrate Tom’s favorite sport and drivers.
