Robert Shinkle

Robert Shinkle, 98, passed away on April 18, 2022. Robert was born September 16,1923 in Indianapolis.

He married the love of his life, Lorna Rose and they were married for over 50 years, raising their five children in Speedway. Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired after 42 years from Allison Transmission (GM). He was an active member for over 65 years with the Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Shinkle and Margaret Trotter; wife Lorna Shinkle; two brothers Kenneth and Charles Shinkle; two sons Robert Shinkle and David Shinkle.

Surviving are his children, Paul (Glenda) Shinkle, Charlotte (Jim) Lindop and Mark (Jennifer) Shinkle; Brother James Trotter; Grandchildren Sherry Shinkle, Robbie Shinkle, Shannon Otero, Chris Shinkle, Myleia Tresler, Amber Martin, Julie Krober, Jason Shinkle, Wendy Breen, Stacy Stovall, Megan Shinkle and Jennifer Murphy; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren.

Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46228. A memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
