Robert Paul Black, 60, of Indianapolis passed away suddenly on December 12, 2017. He was born June 22, 1957 in Indianapolis to Kenneth and Mary Black.
He was a graduate from Decatur Central High School in 1975 and became an ordained minister January 17, 2010. He was a member of Marwood Baptist Church in Indianapolis. He spent the last 40 years working for Target Distribution Centers, a job he planned to retire from in just two years. Family describes Robert as a true man of God who held steadfast to his Christian faith and would do anything to help others out. He was a huge fan of John Wayne, going as far as devoting an entire room in his home to the western legend. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and 1 great-nephew. Surviving to cherish his memory are his siblings; Barb (Tim) Nawrocki and John (Joanne) Black, nieces and nephews; Jarred Black, Jillian Black-Wiggington, Jordan (Kayla) Black, Johnalee Black; 2 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; and bis beloved pets, Abby and Cashew.
Friends and family may visit 4-8 PM Friday, December 15 at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 16 at Marwood Baptist Church, Indianapolis.
