Robert Neil Sommers

Robert Neil Sommers of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021. He is the son of Robert E. J. Sommers and Helen Miller Sommers. He was born November 30, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1952.

He was married to Judy Roberts Sommers on January 15, 1972. They were married for 41 years, until her death in 2013. They enjoyed country dancing, playing cards, and pool parties.

He met Sally Feltz in 2014 and moved to Celina, Ohio. They were members of the Celina Moose Lodge and the American Legion.

He was a painter by trade and was a member of the Painters Local Union 47, Indianapolis, IN since 1967.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert E.J. Sommers and Helen Miller Sommers, his sister Anita Rutheford,  brother Lester Sommers, wife Betty Horn Sommers, daughter Renee Rothman, and son-in-law Mark Farner.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his children, Bobby Farner, Teresa (Todd) Coe, Tony (Brenda) Gordon, Michael (Therese) Sommers, Tina (Tom) Lundy and Lori (Jason) Braun, several grand and great-grand children, Sally Feltz, Karen and Jim Perts, and Cindy Adams.

Services are in care of Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.
