Indianapolis

Robert Lee Seay was born December 21, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Cleve and S. Elizabeth Seay.  He died on February 10, 2021 at the age of 85. Bob graduated from Morgantown High School where he played basketball and softball and for several years served as President of the Alumni Association. Bob and his wife Rosella (Rosie) were married August 27, 1960 and celebrated over 60 years of married life.  They owned and ran a Dairy Queen for 9 years while both were working full-time at Eli Lilly.  Sons Kenneth and Keith were the joys of their life, and Bob taught and licensed both sons to referee soccer.  Named Father of the Year by a local radio station, he was deeply involved with his sons' activities. Following his retirement after 40 years from Computer Systems, he and his golf partner J. Timothy Baird, traveled to play all the Trent golf courses.  Bob's greatest golf achievement was a hole-in-one.  He joked his golf prowess was attributed to being born on a golf course where his father was greenskeeper. Bob attended a referee course at the Olympic Training Center where he was authorized to teach, license and assess referees for which he traveled the State of Indiana.  He cherished those enduring friendships.  Bob served as a statistician for the Women's World Cup Soccer games and Olympics Soccer games held in Orlando Florida.  He officiated many Indianapolis soccer tournaments. Bob served 8 years as a cryptographer in the Indiana Air National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Keith, siblings:  Edith, Carl Henry, Corbern, James and Patricia. Due to Covid, the family is planning a memorial service at a later date.  He is being laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 3255 N German Church Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46235-8502.
