Robert Lee Tremain Sr. age 92, of Greenfield, passed away January 14, 2019. He was born on October 14, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Jesse R. and Gladys O. (Sturman) Tremain. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a ceramic tile and marble setter during his career and retired from Tremain Tile Marble and Granite in 1991 after over 40 years in the industry. He was proud to be a member of Bricklayers Local #4, Millersville Masonic Lodge, Lawrence VFW Post #261, and the American Legion Post #45.
Bob will be lovingly missed by his children, Robert Tremain Jr., John (Carolee) Tremain, Gail (Kevin) Ryan and Barbara (Jerry) Jansen; grandchildren, Jeff Tremain, Jennifer Hedges, James (Laura) Ryan, Stephanie Ryan (fiance Joel Elijah), Joe (Rachel) Jansen, Bobby (Carly) Ryan, Meghan Jansen, Brian Jansen and Erin Jansen (fiance Bryan Routt); great-grandchildren, Ashlynne and Quentin Hedges, Evan Tremain, Brevyn, Jameson, Raelyn, Parker, Reese, and Sean Ryan; and his brother, Stephen V. Tremain; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years, Jo Tremain; and brothers, Jesse “Ray” and James Joseph Tremain.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
