Robert L. Redmeier, 92, of Danville, passed away January 30, 2018. He was born on October 30, 1925 in Indianapolis as the son of Roy and Irma Redmeier. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 until 1946, during World War II.
Bob was proud of his service as a U.S. Marine and recently went on an Honor Flight trip with other veterans. He enjoyed dancing and golfing with his wife of 70 years, LaVerne. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, LaVerne Redmeier; children, Lynn A. (Bob) Dickerson, Randy (Eileen) Redmeier, Mark (Yvonne) Redmeier and Tammy (Steve) Cooper; grandchildren, Natalie (Kevin) Bollin, Brad (Sara) Redmeier and Keiland Cooper; and great grandchildren, Emily and Samantha Bollin. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Irma Redmeier; and sister, Irma Jean Slagle.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 1-4pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service with military honors will immediately follow at 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indy Honor Flight, P.O. Box 10, Plainfield, IN 46168. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral center.
