It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Robert George Kellar, affectionately known as Bobby, on January 23, 2025, at the age of 87. Bobby was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He was born on February 23, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the cherished son of the late Albert and Mary (Haase) Kellar. Bobby’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as a devoted member of Drexel Gardens Apostolic Tabernacle where he served as a deacon for many years, touching countless lives with his kindness and dedication. His faith was a guiding light of his life, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bobby worked for over 30 years for Chrysler Foundry prior to retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Family was the cornerstone of Bobby’s world. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching old western shows, solving word searches and crossword puzzles, or sharing laughter and love with his family. He had an infectious smile and a playful spirit that brought warmth and happiness to everyone around him. Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Faye Marie Kellar, who passed away on December 13, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his children, Billy Kellar, Sherry Faye, Carry Marie, and his sister, Betty Joan. He leaves his legacy of love through his surviving family, his children, Albert (Debbie) Kellar, Robert (Darlene) Kellar, his grandchildren, Tonya (Randy), Tommy (Lindsay), Robby, Coty, Ashlie, Emily (Dustin), Chad (Casey), his great grandchildren, Rachel, Hudson, Lucas, Jaela, Jordyn, Khloeanne, Dallas, Reni, Gatlin, Ellie, Kaydence, Denver, Bentley, and his sisters, Verna (Phil) Caryle, Mary (Steve) Pollak. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4:00pm-8:00pm and on Friday, January 31, 2025, 10:00am-11:00am at the Drexel Gardens Apostolic Tabernacle 5034 Mecca Street Indianapolis, Indiana. His Funeral Service will also be at the church on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest following the service at Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Drexel Garden Apostolic Tabernacle, or a charity of your choice. Bobby’s warmth, love, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of joy, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire us all.
