Robert Joseph "Bob" Fitzgerald

Robert Joseph “Bob” Fitzgerald, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana (Mars Hill) passed unexpectedly at Community South Hospital on February 21, 2022 at the age of 78.

Bob was born at Coleman Hospital on September 24th, 1943. Bob was a man of many talents that he used to provide for his family including automobile and boat upholstery, pressure washing, and working as a mechanic for U-Haul. Bob was described by his family as being a very generous person with a heart of gold and having the best smile ever. His family said he enjoyed detailing automobiles and was very meticulous in doing so. He loved spending time outside in his backyard at his patio table, to doing yard work, tending to his roses, lilies, and garden. He was a man of many projects. Bob’s family always looked forward to him cooking Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinner, especially his baked beans. He enjoyed his family and spending time with them. Bob was always ready to go on a adventure; camping, boating, fishing, and cook outs.

Bob was a simple kind of man that was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his wife; Beverly Fitzgerald (Webb); his children, Kelly Fitzgerald, Jeanette Fitzgerald, Jeanene Fitzgerald (Ratliff), Chuck Deaton, and Victoria Webb, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and his sister, Terri Fitzgerald. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Edwin Fitzgerald; his mother, Mary Theresa Fitzgerald (Vivoda) and son, Dustin Brandon Wayne Webb.

Services for Bob will be held Monday, February 28th, 2022, at 1pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with visitation there from 11:00am-1:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
