He was born in Alliance, Ohio to Harold H. Williamson and Ann (Ziegler) Williamson. The family moved to the Detroit area when Bob was a baby and they lived in several of the towns around Detroit called The Down River Area, Wyandotte, Ecorse and others, and then settled in the Southgate area where Bob lived with his dad, stepmom, Dora Jean (Simpson) Williamson, one brother and one sister until 1955 when he was 17. Then he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served our country for 25 years until his retirement in 1977. He visited over 30 countries while he was in the Navy and served on 7 different ships plus 5 years of his duty was as a Navy recruiter enlisting new recruits into the Navy.

After his retirement from the Navy, he worked for a short time at Sears then started working at the VA Hospital on Cold Springs Road, where he worked for over 12 years. Then he opened at travel agency in Fishers. Three years later he returned to work at Sears where he stayed over 12 years until he retired in December of 2003. We enjoyed retirement and did some traveling until his health started to decline and he didn’t have much energy for walking around sightseeing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Marsha J. Williamson whom he married in October 1961 and their three children, Deann Williamson and three children, Bonnie (Mike) Cain and her 1 son, James (Rachel) Williamson. His sister Sherri (Rick) Johnson, His brother-in-law, Duane (Dawn) Stevenson and His sister-in-law, Marilyn Williamson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday January 11, 2023, from 11-1pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held there at 1pm. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
