Robert. E. Crooke passed away Monday, October 7th, 2019, at the age of 96.
Born December 30th, 1922, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ralph Crooke and Nellie (Winters) Crooke.
Robert was a U.S Marine Veteran, serving from 1943 until 1946 during World War II. As a Corporal in the Third Marine Division, he served in Guam, Iwo Jima, and Guadalcanal.
He worked as a mechanic and went on to teach auto mechanics at Arsenal Tech for 27 years.
Robert had a passion for photography and auto mechanics. He played guitar, bass guitar and Hawaiian guitar, which he used to record his own songs on reel-to-reel tapes.
Survivors include his three children: Stanley T. Crooke, Roberta K. Crooke, and David E. Crooke; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Besides his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine.
A graveside service for Robert will be held on Thursday, October 10th, at 3:00pm at Washington Park East Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the United States Marine Corps.
