Robert Smith

Robert “Bob” Lee Smith 88 of Indianapolis died April 21, 2017. Bob was born November 05, 1928 in Pineville, KY to James Otis and Alice Linda (Browning) Smith. Bob was 1 of 11 children and was the second youngest child. Bob worked and became the maintenance director for Richardson Rubber, where he retired in 1989. Bob was an avid fisherman, loved to garden (where he grew the best tomatoes ever) and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. He also was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything he was working on for anybody. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Jean (Smith) Smith, and their son, Pastor Dewayne Smith. Calling for Bob will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the funeral center at 10 am. Bob is survived by his best friend; Bobbie Chandler, adopted son; Walter (Judy) Smith Jr., daughter-in-law; Ty Smith, his grandchildren; Felicia, Jeremiah and Rachel Smith and numerous nephews and nieces.
