Robert "Bob" Kissner

Robert (Bob) Kissner, 78, passed away April 10, 2023, with family by his side. He was born August 6, 1944, in Sacramento, CA to the late Carl and Bernadette (Dietrick) Kissner.

Bob was raised in Toledo, Ohio. He attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN before graduating from the University of Notre Dame with his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and later earned his master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He worked for Procter and Gamble Co. for 31 years in Research and Development. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, woodcarving, scouting, hiking and being outdoors, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his home-away-from-home in Estes Park, CO.

Bob will always be remembered for his kindness, warm smiles, and sense of humor. He loved to entertain everyone with stories from the past that were “guaranteed” to make you laugh. He always put others before himself and made everyone feel special when they were around him.

Bob leaves behind his wife, Gerry, of 53 years; his daughter Amy (Kissner) Marcou and his son Doug (Lori) Kissner; sister Donna (Joe) Wasserman; brother Greg (Liz) Kissner; and grandchildren Anna, Andrew, Aaron, Michaela, and Kasey. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s name to Scouts BSA Troop 57 in Glenview, IL, Cathedral High School Band in Indianapolis or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Please send an email to [email protected] for help facilitating donations.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville at 105 W. Pine Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. at 1870 W. Oak Street in Zionsville. Bob will be interred at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
