Robert “Bob” Wilson, 73, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2018. He was born September 30, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Evelyn Wilson; one of two sons.
A lifetime Indiana resident, Bob graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1962. That same year, he found the love of his life in neighbor, Peggy Barker. The girl next door was the only one for him, two married in 1964 and spent 54 beautiful years together. They remained deeply in love at his passing. He worked for Link-Belt PMC for 31 years until his retirement at age 52. Upon his retirement, he worked in lawn care to pass the time. Bob was a faithful member for 10 years at Unity Missionary Baptist Church. He was a kindhearted man with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family; he especially adored his grandchildren. He was a faithful supporter of the Chicago Cubs and loved to watch his grandkids play sports. Bob will be missed by all who were blessed to meet him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David (Loretta)Wilson; brother, Don Wilson. Surviving to cherish his memory are wife of 54 years, Peggy; son, Michael (Marcy) Wilson; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; cousin, Richard White; best friend, Clyde (Beulah) Shepherd; as well as a host of extended family and friends, including Pastor Damon Finley and the Finley family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering, Thursday, September 13 from 3-6 PM with a memorial service taking place at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s honor to Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
