Robert Earl (Bob) Gilly, Sr. 87 passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016. Bob was born in McRoberts, Kentucky, on July 21, 1929, to the late Henry and Dora (Vires) Gilly. Bob and his wife, Faye (Stevens) Gilly would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on August 4th. Bob was a successful businessman, having owned and sold various small companies having to do with the wholesale and food industries. He also loved fishing, golf and growing a garden every year. He served in the Army in Germany and was very proud of being a veteran. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. Most of all he loved his family. He and Faye hosted family gatherings for every holiday and most birthdays with Bob being the grill master. He always had a smile and even as his health declined, he never complained and was always "fine and dandy".
Survivors include: wife, Faye Gilly; brothers Carl and Paul Gilly; sisters Louise Tackett and Betty Davis; children Diana (Jack) Andrews and Robert (Debbie) E. Gilly, Jr.; grandchildren Tracey (Nathan) Jones, Scott (Staci) Andrews, Christoper Gilly and Lindsay Gilly; great grandchildren Sydney, Reagan, Jameson, Ariana, Jaxen and Harper. Preceded in death by: mother Dora (Vires) Gilly; father Henry Gilly; sister Irene Gilly; brothers James and William Gilly.
He was a wonderful husband and father and worked very hard to take care of his family. Bob will always be loved and missed.
