Robert Bob' A." Young, Jr.

Robert “Bob” A. Young Jr., 68 of Indianapolis passed away on April 6, 2017.

Bob was born on October 17, 1948 to the late Dorothy “Nannie” Reynolds and Robert A. Young Sr., in Chicago, IL. He served his country honorably as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam. He was proud to have received many medals for his service; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, RVNMUC W/ Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medalist Award. He was a master electrician for IBEW Local 481, and owned his own company, LARJAC, for over 30 years. Bob loved Disney Land and traveling with his family to some of their favorite beaches in Key West and Hawaii.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 49 years, Linda M. Young; children, Jake D. Young (fiancé Ashley), Amanda L. Young, Carly M. Young-Bolander (W. Brent Bolander); grandchildren, Nathaniel M. Young, Gavin R. Young, Alana M. Young; sisters, Mary “Mimi” Ward (Mike), Joyce Burmeister, Gina Anians; and was the fun uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Claudia Brodnick-Mandes.

Friends and family are invited to gather 4:00-8:00pm on Monday, April 10th, and again on Tuesday from 11:00am-12:00pm with a celebration of life to begin 12:00pm on Tuesday, April 11th, at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East.
