The world has lost one of the good guys.
Rob Camarillo was the friendliest of people, the first with a smile, a warm welcome, a handshake or a hearty hug. Born in Mexico City on Feb. 13, 1967, Rob grew up learning to treasure family and racing motorcycles, passions that would remain throughout his life. The former came naturally, the latter, he perfected–so much so he would come to be a professional, sponsored racer, riding for Superior beer.
He came to the United States in 1986 and settled in Ventura, Ca., where he eventually started a career that lead him to meet the love of his life, his wife, Cheyenne. It also lead the couple to Indianapolis, where they’d purchase a home, start a business and start a family, raising two sons, Jason and Gabriel.
Not just a rider, but a collector and all-around motorcycle enthusiast, Rob was a founding member of what he considered a second family, the iDesmo Ducati motorcycle club. He traveled a lot for his work with Synovia Solutions, but most weekends he could be found at a club meet-up, ride or other event.
Rob was on his way home from a business trip when he died suddenly Friday, April 21 leaving behind his wife, sons and two grandsons, Kyson and Landon.
He is also survived by his mother, Anita, brother, Ramses, sister, Kersty and countless extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
A viewing will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. May 5 and a funeral will be at 1 p.m. May 6. Both services will take place at Flanner and Buchanan, 2706 Kessler Blvd., Indianapolis.
