Roald T. Smith, born September 1, 1941, in Suffern, NY, will be remembered as a loving father strong in his faith. He was kind and generous with a funny sense of humor that could make people laugh. He loved his children with his whole heart unconditionally.  He will be missed so very much by all who knew him. 

Roald passed away on December 20, 2024, in Lebanon, IN. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his sons Erik (Shari) Smith and Ian H. Carter (Sarah Kaplan), as well as his daughter Kat (B.C.) Henschen. Roald also leaves behind his brothers Robert Smith and Richard (Janell) Smith; along with his nephews Joel (Meade) Smith, Nathaniel Smith, and Jeffrey Smith; and his niece Cindy (Tony) Arias. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren.

Roald's parents, Thorsten Smith and Esther Mildred (Travis) Smith, preceded him in death.

Family and friends are warmly invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for January 3, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Speedway, located at 2950 North High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Roald T. Smith will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on through the love and memories he fostered in his family and the lives he touched throughout his journey.
