Rickey J. Newell

Rickey J. Newell, 65. of Indianapolis passed away on February 14, 2017.

He was born in Crawfordsville, IN to Jim and Connie Newell. He grew up in Mooresville and graduated from Mooresville High School in 1971. Rick retired in April 2016 from the Marion County Sheriff/Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Dept after 33 years of service. He enjoyed golf, traveling with family and friends but most of all, he loved his grandsons and their sports. He never met a stranger. Rick is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gayle Jacobs. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay, son Kevin (Sally) Newell, sister, Lynn Miller, brothers, Ron (Colleen) Newell and Bob (Margaret) Newell and grandsons, Carson and Landon.

Visitation will be from 2-6 PM Sunday, February 19, 2017 and one hour prior to service at 10 AM Monday at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis.
