Richard Howard Swain

Richard Howard Swain, age 88 of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Huntington Beach, California passed away on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025 in Indianapolis.

Richard was born on March 4, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a son of Norman Lester and Mildred Dorothy (Boyd) Swain. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is also preceded in death by one brother: Roger Swain.

Richard married Loretta Bove on May 23, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Loretta Swain of Indianapolis.

Richard is also survived by two children: daughter Linda (husband Bob) Holcomb of Indianapolis and son Gary (wife Jennifer) of Irvine, California.

Two grandchildren: Joseph Holcomb III and Morgan Holcomb, both of Indianapolis.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. Richard will be placed to rest at Crown Hill National Cemetery in Indianapolis on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM, located at 725 W. 42nd Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208.
