Richard "Rick" Beard Powell

Richard Beard Powell, born October 23, 1953, passed away on November 18, 2020, one day after his 30^th wedding anniversary with his beloved bride Kristy Lynn (Ray) Powell. Rick, a talented graphic designer who retired from AT&T after 20 years, spent the last 10 years as a home security advisor at Defenders/ADT. Rick was a passionate hobbyist who collected albums, campaign buttons, and vintage radios. He was a ham radio operator, cheerful fisherman, and master tinkerer who recently built a life-size robotic scarecrow for a friend’s shop opening. Rick generously shared his love of art and music with his five daughters Courtney Ritter (Tom), Alexandra Powell, Adrianne Powell, Ashleigh Taylor (Tim) and Allison Rickard (Bob Whiting); his grandchildren Sophia Kinder (Ian), Gretchen and Maya Ritter, Trenton and Hunter Anderson, Hudson Taylor, and Nora Whiting; and his great-grandson Shane Kinder. He is also survived by his mother Mary Lou Beard Powell and siblings Roberts Powell II (Debra), William Powell, Robin Powell, Emily Talisse (Patrick), and David Powell (Kristi).
