Richard Phillip Anderson, 86 of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018. Dick was born October 10, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late John T. and Jean V. Anderson. He was a US Navy veteran, having served in Korea from 1951-1955, part of that time aboard the USS Kearsarge aircraft carrier.
Dick founded Chem-lube Corp. and was named CEO and Chairman of the Board in 1988. He was a member of the Lakeville Masonic Lodge, South Bend Scottish Rite and the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 3 at St. Joseph Valley Cemetery in Granger, IN.
Dick is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Sally Wood-Tafelski; children, Susan C. (husband, Monty) Miller and Michael Anderson; step children, Patrick E. (wife, Shaunna) and Michael T. (wife, Rita) Tafelski; grandchildren, Jack, Maggie, Morgan, Megan, Brandon, Kyle, Zachary and Hailey; step grandchildren, Brennan and Nathan Miller; niece, Jane Wilkerson; nephew, John Anderson. He was preceded in death by his son, David Edward Anderson and brother, Donald T. Anderson.
