Richard L. Deuschle, 52 of Noblesville, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018. Richard was born December 14, 1965 in San Diego, CA. He received his Bachelor’s degree of Science in Business Administration-Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000 and his Master’s degree of Science in Occupational Safety and Health Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University in 2011.
He worked for Westinghouse as Environmental Safety and Health Manager in construction of Vogtle plants 3 and 4 in Waynesboro, GA. Here he oversaw the construction of a nuclear power plant and the 100 sub-contractors and 7,000 workers involved its construction and operation. Richard worked as Associate Director of Information Technology and Facilities for the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Zionsville from 2002-2011, where he was instrumental in the success of the construction of their expansion. He also led the implementation of the Evergreen Indiana Open Source Integrated Library System state-wide. After leaving the library he formed his own company, the NEON Safety Group working with his Father, Charles Deuschle. He received his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation in May of 2013.
Rick met and married the love of his life, Sharon, in 1989 while living in Florida with his three year old son AJ. Always an avid reader, he completed his own unpublished fantasy novel in 1990 preceding the birth of his son Charlie. Rick returned to working in the Nuclear Safety field before settling down in Wisconsin with his wife Sharon. While raising his two sons in Oregon, Wisconsin, he was President of the local Jaycees chapter and a Scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 50. His family moved to Zionsville, IN in 2002 when Sharon transferred to the Van Rooy Properties headquarters in Indianapolis.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, March 23 at Flanner Buchanan Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), where a memorial service will begin at 3:00pm.
Richard is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sharon; sons, Aaron (wife, Katie) Deuschle and Charles (husband, Jacob Denning) Deuschle; grandson, Alexander Richard Deuschle; father and mother, Charles and Kay Deuschle; sister, Lisa (husband, Richie) Reed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Alice Deuschle.
