Richard A. Uhls of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on September 17, 2018 at the age of 84.
He was born August 20, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late Aubie A. and Edna Matlock Uhls. He attended Ben Davis High School, as well as several schools studying electronics. He retired after 53 years in the banking industry after working as a Research Specialist for Fletcher Trust, AFNB, and BankOne. Saint Richard (as he’s known by many) will be remembered for his dedication and selfless care of his family; as well as his love of socializing and spending time with others, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored.
He is survived by his wife Judith A. Uhls; son Russell A. Uhls (Roxanne Sirotin); grandchildren Kelley Ann Ingram (Jason), Ryan Alex Uhls, Rachel Jane Kubsch, and Arika Rene Uhls; step-grandchildren Jason Sirotin (Courtney) and Justin Sirotin; great-grandchildren Eliana Ingram, Juda Ingram, Elliott Uhls, Amelia Uhls, Thadeus Jasper Kubsch, Magdelina Kubsch, Tori Uhls, Zoi Uhls, and Kayne Uhls; and step great-grandchildren Dillon Sirotin, Levi Sirotin, Trace Sirotin, Rylan Sirotin, and Mason Sirotin.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Uhls and Chester Uhls.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 21 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 22 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
