Reva Joyce Bussberg

Reva Joyce Proffitt Bussberg, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2018 at The Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. She was a cancer survivor for eleven years and was blessed during those years to have never suffered pain. Reva was born October 2, 1937 to L.J. and Delta Hall Proffitt in Monroe County, Kentucky. She moved to Indianapolis in 1964 where she met her husband, Henry Bussberg. They were married in 1965 and spent 38 wonderful years together before his passing in 2003.  Reva worked for Western Electric from 1964 until retirement in 1984. After retirement, she worked as a school crossing guard for IPS School 92 for several years. Reva was a member of the Mars View Christian Church where she attended faithfully until the last few weeks when health issues prevented her from attending.

Reva is survived by her step-son, Michael Bussberg; step-daughter, Debby Bussberg Theabold; grandchildren, Jessica Theabold Kaiser, Thomas Bussberg, Madison Murphy Sparks, Mike Bussberg, and Julie Bussberg Ramsey; sister, Judy Gregory; brothers, Willis and Wallace Proffitt; nieces, RuthAnn Bolt, Laverne Pike, Sharon Layman, Alissa Proffitt, Tina Perry, Denice Story; and son-in-law, Steve Murphy. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends whose hearts ache at her passing. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Brenda Bussberg Murphy; brother, Charles Proffitt; two nieces, Pamela Proffitt Laws and Karen Lee Proffitt.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, August 15 from 11-1 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indy 46121 with services starting at 1 PM. Reva will be laid to rest at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana immediately following services.
